Employee of the Month

Peak Prep Employee of the Month 2012-13

MF

Meagan Frazier

August 2012

Meagan Frazier has been instrumental in helping others in various ways.  Not only has she helped with classroom set up, but also, she has helped others plan units and daily lessons.  In addition, she has been most helpful in helping new teachers navigate Uplift and Peak expectations.

JS

Janette Salazar

August 2012
Janette took on the massive task of carline with Amber Ackley.  Both of the ladies have been instrumental in making carline run as smoothly as possible, both in the morning and afternoon whether it's assigning spots, taking on tough parents, and putting themselves in not so ideal spots to help out or rearranging the cones to help the flow of traffic

DE

Dani Erbert

August 2012

Dani Erbert is consistent and persistent in her dedication to Peak Preparatory. She went out of her way to be proactive so that teachers, scholars, and their families felt supported and organized at the beginning of the year.  She is a leader and we are lucky to have her.

Colin Curtin

Colin Curtin

September 2012

Colin Curtin runs back and forth between the high school and middle school’s “portable island” multiple times each day as he juggles teaching both 7th and 10th grade science.  Not only that, but he is outside every morning greeting scholars with a smile and giving them a high-five to start the day.  The middle school team at Peak Prep is lucky to have Mr. Curtin!

Lisa Vasquez

Lisa Vasquez

September 2012

Lisa is a joy to work with.  She is constantly focused on how she can better serve her scholars and support other teachers AND she keeps that focus while being pulled in many different directions.  She is constantly offering to thought partner with me in order to strengthen my lessons and aid me in accommodating some of our scholars who need special support.  Her ability to keep a smile while she juggles so many different requests from teachers and the diverse needs of our scholars is astounding and extremely admirable.

Latavia Champion

Latavia Champion

September 2012

Ms. Champion has done a great job helping her grade level team.  In addition to scheduling parent conferences and checking scholars’ grades in all classes, she has given time to help teachers who have technology issues.  Specifically, she has made sure teachers know how to navigate their grade books.

Employee of the Month

Jessica Rocha

September 2012

Ms. Rocha has worked hard to ensure that schedules are correctly loaded into PowerSchool for all scholars (K-12).  Moreover, she has remained vigilant when it comes to ensuring we are calling scholars on the waiting list so that we are at or above our budgeted enrollment.  More specifically, her work has resulted in all of our schools, Primary, Middle, and High, reaching and maintaining our enrollment numbers.  Finally, she has done numerous individual schedules for those scholars who have entered our school 1 year behind in math (i.e.. 9th graders needing Algebra I).

ZM

Zoe Matthew

October 2012

Ms. Matthew is a true team player.  As the coordinator for our 6th Grade RTC/Sky Ranch trip, Zoe juggled multiple responsibilities and deadlines flawlessly.  She worked hard to make sure all of our scholars and teachers had everything they needed and were well-prepared for the trip.  Ms. Matthew is appreciated by all of her teammates on Portable Island.

Lynn

Lynn McClain

October 2012

Lynn has been instrumental in supporting and guiding others.  Not only has she worked to assist the leadership team, but she has helped numerous teachers in various areas as well.  For example, she has helped teachers with classroom ideas, planning, and special projects.  In addition, she has supported our scholars inside and outside of the classroom by being a mentor and club sponsor.

Nora

Nora Apolinar

October 2012

Nora put up the amazing data walls for TPRI and MAP. They are so easy to read and so nice to look at!  Thanks to Nora for helping organize, pack and hand out the Food4Kid backpacks, as well as helping count deposits and also lend a helping hand.  You’re Spectacular!!!

jd

Juan de Dios Garcia

November 2012

Juan has been recognized by many of his peers because he is an awesome team player.  More than this, however, he goes above and beyond to help wherever there is a need.  In addition to working with teachers to secure coverage when they are ill, on RTC trips, or are absent for any reason, he helps with translating, basic IT needs, carline, etc. in addition to performing his normal duties as Office manager.  Simply put, he has a “do whatever it takes” attitude.  To top it all off, he never complains.

Juan has been nominated by several teachers and peers as one who should be Employee of the Month.

mp

Meghan Pittman

November 2012

I nominate Meghan Pittman for having such stellar lesson plans.  They are aligned and have so many fun centers and awesome ways to get the scholars involved EVERY day.  Although I know coming up with hours of addition problems for 1-20 is not the most fun, you do it with a smile!  Your growth mindset and advocacy on behalf of all scholars at Peak is inspiring.  Thank you!!

MM

Marco Mendieta

December 2012

Uplift Peak Prep’s middle school would like to recognize Marco Mendieta as the December employee of the month. Marco worked tirelessly with his team to deliver high quality meals to Portable Island every day during CFAs. It was freezing cold, but he was outside each day delivery meals with a smile on his face. All of Peak is lucky to have Marco, but the middle school is especially grateful. We love you Marco!

DM

Diane Mikkelson

December 2012

Diane puts scholars first in any decision that she makes.  She always does what is best for kids, and will do anything for them.   She will completely rearrange her schedule if she needs to, and always remains so flexible and open minded.  She uses data to drive all small group instruction, and does a wonderful job of communicating this data and the growth scholars are making to teachers.  Diane plays an integral part in closing the achievement gap at Peak.  We are so lucky to have her!

mm

Marilyn Mikulec

January 2013

Marilyn goes above and beyond nearly every day.  She truly knows what it means to help out coworkers and step up when asked.  Marilyn substituted her class almost a whole month with little to no help when Ms. Chen was off and scholars did not miss a beat. She helps out with different school activities including; H.E.R.O’s club, baking club, Advantage Club, translating to even doing hair for the ballroom competition. She is always asking if there is anything else she can help me out with.  She does everything that’s asked of her with a smile!  I know that if I ever need any help I can always ask her.  Kindergarten (and Peak) wouldn’t be the same without her!

dl

David McLeod

January 2013

We are proud to recognize Mr. McLeod as this month’s employee of the month for all of his work coordinating the science fair for Peak Prep’s middle school.  Mr. McLeod is a leader on our campus and someone everyone turns to for advice, encouragement and wisdom.  The scholars and staff are lucky to have Mr. McLeod!
