Uplift Education High Schools Earn Prestigious Top Rankings Nationally and in Texas

Release Date: Sept 1st, 2023

Dallas, TX – Uplift Education, the leading network of tuition-free public charter schools in North Texas, proudly announces its recent accolade from U.S. News & World Report, recognizing several of its high schools as among the finest in the nation and the state of Texas.

The U.S. News Best High Schools rankings, which encompass nearly 25,000 public high schools across all 50 states and the District of Columbia, meticulously evaluated each institution based on six critical factors, including their performance in state assessments and their ability to prepare students for collegiate success.

In an extraordinary achievement, every eligible Uplift Education high school distinguished itself by securing positions within the top 21% of public schools nationwide, the top 16% within the state of Texas, and the upper ranks of charter schools across the nation, ranking within the top 19%.

Yasmin Bhatia, the CEO of Uplift Education, expressed her enthusiasm for the remarkable recognition: “At Uplift Education, we remain committed to guiding our students toward their college and career aspirations. These yearly rankings unquestionably highlight the remarkable academic achievements of our students and the outstanding level of college readiness that our students demonstrate.

This year’s rankings are especially noteworthy for Uplift Grand, located in Grand Prairie, as it secured a distinguished place among the top 4% of high schools in the entire nation. Notably, high schools must possess a minimum of three years’ worth of data for their graduating classes to be eligible for ranking, and this marks Uplift Grand’s inaugural year of eligibility.

In addition to Uplift Grand’s impressive achievement, several other Uplift high schools have consistently maintained their top-ranking status since becoming eligible for inclusion. These schools include Uplift North Hills (1%), Uplift Summit International Preparatory (2%), Uplift Infinity (4%), Uplift Williams (5%), Uplift Luna (5%), Uplift Hampton (9%), Uplift Heights (10%), Uplift Atlas (16%), and Uplift Mighty (21%) nationally.

It is important to note that the majority of schools achieving top national rankings are typically magnet or specialized institutions with selective admission criteria, often based on GPA or other prerequisites. In stark contrast, Uplift Education proudly extends open enrollment to the communities it serves, boasting a diverse demographic composition, with 66% Hispanic and 23% African American students among its largest groups.

“At Uplift, we meet our students where they are, providing the vital support they require to transform their dreams into tangible realities. We are dedicated to serving our communities and nurturing our students into well-rounded individuals who go on to achieve success in their college and career journey, thereby giving back to our communities.,” affirmed Dr. Remy Washington, Uplift Education President.
