Healthcare Career Education

Beginning in 9th grade, scholars explore healthcare careers and take foundational healthcare course electives. In the 10th grade, scholars choose their specific healthcare pathway of study to complete, along with their standard high school coursework.   

Healthcare Pathways:  

• Biomedical Science  
• Nursing  
• Healthcare Therapeutic  
• Healthcare Operations (business-side of a hospital system)  

Each pathway offers scholars a range of future careers. Examples include certified medical assistant, nurse, doctor, clinical lab technician, biomedical engineer, medical records technician, billing specialist, etc.   

While some scholars might want to enter the workforce following graduation through earning an industry certificate at Uplift Heights Healthcare Institute, we expect most graduates to continue their education at a 4-year or 2-year college prior to entering the healthcare industry.  

Incoming 9th grade scholars may apply to Heights Healthcare Institute.
