Frequently Asked Questions
The new building will open in January of 2024. The plan is to close out the first semester in the current downtown and Deep Ellum locations and start the second semester on the new campus.
Our construction timeline is scheduled for the building to be available to occupy mid year. While we could wait until the beginning of the following school year, we want to be good stewards of our public funding and don't want to pay the expenses of two buildings and instead use those funds to support our scholar programming.
We are going to do our best to not have any disruptions to the calendar. Our goal is to have a seamless process for our scholars, staff and families. We will be doing a lot of work behind the scenes to ensure scholars can seamlessly close out first semester at the current locations and then show up at the new location for second semester, keeping the continuity of our programming but adding the excitement and amenities of the new buildings and space.
We highly recommend that you start the 2023-24 school year with Uplift Luna at either our downtown (K-5th) or Deep Ellum (6th-12th) location, as we cannot guarantee that space will be available for students who want to start mid year. We will provide transportation to/from the new campus are to our old campuses during the first semester.
Yes! We plan on providing bus transportation for Uplift Luna students during the first semester, 2023. We will pick up and drop off students at a location near the new campus and deliver them to the downtown or Deep Ellum campus. Buses will have an adult supervisor in addition to the driver.

Yes! The primary building will include an 864 sq. ft. library and the secondary building will have a 1400 sq. ft. library.
Uplift Luna will be located near the East Dallas, Mesquite, Garland, Sunnyvale area, but is open to anyone who applies for grades Pre-K through 12th grade. Parents have a choice in their child’s education, so we are excited for families in the area to learn about our nationally recognized, tuition-free school.
