Rating System

The TIA rating system at Uplift Education is a performance evaluation model that combines teacher effectiveness, as measured by observations (50%), and student growth (50%). Eligible subjects include ES, MS, HS, Interventionists, Fine Arts, Spanish, and P.E. Teacher observation weight is determined by the average of three formal full observations throughout the year, while for teachers with only one assessment, points are based on students reaching specific growth targets.

FAQ

The Teacher Incentive Allotment (TIA) is an initiative that aims to elevate the teaching profession and drive student success. It provides an opportunity for passionate and dedicated educators to receive additional compensation based on their impact in the classroom and their commitment to student growth. Our TIA rating system is generally 50% student growth and 50% teacher performance.

Our TIA rating system is generally based on two main components: 50% student growth and 50% teacher observations.

We use a district-specific observation system to allow each teacher to show their work and progress with students.

Student growth measures are calculated based on standardized test scores and other academic indicators. These measures are designed to show how much students have grown or improved over time, compared to their peers.

If a teacher does not meet the TIA requirements, they may be eligible for support and coaching to help them improve their performance. The goal is to provide all teachers with the opportunity to meet the requirements and receive the financial incentives offered through the TIA program.

TIA ratings are evaluated on an annual basis.

Yes, teachers have the right to appeal their TIA ratings if they believe there were errors in the evaluation process. The appeal process is designed to provide a fair and impartial review of the teacher's performance.

Research has shown that the TIA program can have a positive impact on teacher retention rates, particularly in schools with high poverty rates or low student achievement. By offering financial incentives to highly effective teachers, the program helps to retain these educators and provide them with additional support and resources.

You can find more information about the TIA program on your district's website or by contacting your school or district office directly.
