Benefit Information
The Consolidated Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act (COBRA) includes provisions that allow employees who are leaving Uplift Education to continue to be covered under our group health plan for up to 18 months after the insurance through Uplift ends. If an employee elects to continue coverage through COBRA, they will be responsible for the full cost of the benefits and a 2% admin fee.
For the 2022-23 school year, Bswift (TRSActiveCare), WageWorks (SWHP), and Consolidated Admin Services (CAS) (Dental/Vision/FSA) are the COBRA administrators for Uplift Education. You will receive a COBRA enrollment notification from the appropriate vendor(s) via postal mail. To enroll, you must complete and submit the paperwork within 45 days of your last day of coverage and you must make your first payment within 60 days.

Your medical/prescription/dental/vision/FSA/HSA benefits through Uplift Education will end on the last day of the month in which you were employed. For instance, if your last day of work is May 1st then you will be covered through May 31. School year employees who work through the end of the instructional year are entitled to continue benefits through July 31. Upon request, medical/prescription/FSA/HSA benefits are eligible to continue through August 31.
Life/Disability/Supplemental/Guardian insurance plans end on the last day of employment. School year employees who work through the end of the instructional year are entitled to continue benefits through July 31.
Once you submit the enrollment paperwork and make your first payment, your health insurance coverage will be effective back to when your benefits through Uplift Education ended. You will not experience any lapse in coverage.
Yes, if you currently have dependents on your health insurance coverage, then you can absolutely continue to have them covered if you enroll in COBRA.
Once you enroll in COBRA you cannot make changes to your elections unless you 1) cancel your enrollment 2) experience a life event (marriage, birth, etc.) or 3) make changes during the Open Enrollment period in July. Any changes made during Open Enrollment will take effect on September 1. Life Events must be reported within 30 days.
If you participated in the following plans: Accident, Cancer, Critical Life Events, Hospital and/or Supplemental/Universal Life and would like to continue coverage or have questions, please contact Professional Enrollment Concepts (PEC) at 1-866-409-3174 . If you participated in the 403(b)-retirement plan, please contact TCG at 1-800-943-9179 to discuss the options available to you. HSA participants have 30 days to utilize/rollover HSA funds or convert to a retail account with CAS (contact info provided above.)

If you have neither applied for nor received a promise of employment with a TRS-covered employer, you may terminate membership in the Teacher Retirement System and withdraw all of the accumulated contributions in your member account. Please note that terminating your TRS account also terminates all service credit with TRS.
Exception for Substitutes: If you are serving as a substitute and are not employed in any other capacity with a TRS -covered employer, you may withdraw your accumulated contributions. Refunded amounts are subject to a mandatory 20 percent federal income tax withholding unless rolled over into another eligible retirement plan.
For questions regarding your retirement benefits through the Texas Teacher Retirement System (TRS), you may contact them at 800-223-8778 or visit www.trs.state.tx.us. Should you elect to withdraw/rollover your TRS funds from your account, you can request the refund through the “MyTRS” option from their website.
Service Records, Verification of Employment & Public Service Loan Forgiveness
Service Records are official State documents that serve as verification of a full-time employee’s service and State personal leave information.
To request a copy of your service records, please complete and return the following form: https://bit.ly/ServiceRecordsRequest Your form can be submitted to ServiceRecords@uplifteducation.org for processing.
We will process your service records within 30 days of you returning this form.
Please note that as of 2022, any recently separated employee will receive a copy of their service records within 30 days of separation. There is no need to submit a request.
Unused vacation or local days are not paid upon separation of employment. State personal leave days can be transferred to other districts via your service records.
Our Talent Management team can provide verification of employment to a former employee through the form of a service record. If verification of employment and salary information is needed, such as is the case of a loan or mortgage application, it can be provided directly to the financial institution. Please have the financial institution email our Talent Management team directly.

To verify your employment at Uplift for your Public Service Loan Forgiveness application, please email us your form hr@uplifteducation.org. Please include your name and the years you were employed at Uplift.
1095, W2, Paystubs
As a former employee, you can access your W2s, 1095s, and Paycheck Stubs on Frontline Employee Resource Services (formerly TEAMS) for up to 3 years post your separation date.
However, you are required to register with a new and unique username as your Uplift username and password will no longer work. Please find instructions on how to do this here: https://bit.ly/UpliftW2

- Login to your Frontline Employee Service Center
- Click My Payroll Information > My 1095
- In the 1095 Print Options section, click the Edit button and confirm your request for electronic 1095 delivery.
Please ensure that your address is accurate in Frontline Employee Service Center (formerly TEAMS). To access your 1095 electronically, please follow the steps below:
- Login to your Frontline Employee Service Center
- Click My Payroll Information > My 1095
- In the 1095 Print Options section, click the Edit button and confirm your request for electronic 1095 delivery.

- Click My Payroll Information > My Paychecks

Payroll Information
Uplift pays non-exempt employees on a semi-monthly basis. Pay dates will be the 15th and the last business day of each month. However, if such a date falls on the weekend or holiday, the pay date will be the previous business day, in most cases.
Uplift pays exempt employees monthly. The monthly pay date is the last business day of each month.
Our school year employees are provided an annualized salary payment which provides a pre-set amount of gross pay per paycheck throughout all 12 months of the year.
For former school year employees who completed the school year, your last paycheck for the previous school year pays out on July 31st of each year. For example, if your last school day was May 27, 2022, you will receive a June paycheck and your last paycheck will be July 31, 2022.
