Special Education scholars from Uplift North Hills took part in a real-world-experience field trip as they went grocery shopping and then prepared a feast for their entire class.
After boarding the bus, scholars and their teachers headed to a local grocery store where they worked together to check off all the ingredients on their grocery list.
Once they filled their cart and became familiarized with the checkout process, they then headed off to the Georgia Farrow Recreation Center where they each played an important part in putting together some delicious food to feed the entire class!
Real-world experiences like these play a key role in the development of a child and are an important way of encouraging independence and self-sustainability once they graduate from high school.
