Food Banks

Did you know that Uplift Education has a food pantry reclusively for Uplift families? We are proud to provide a Food Pantry Program in partnership with the North Texas Food Bank. This pantry is located at Uplift Infinity (1401 S MacArthur Blvd, Irving, TX 75060) and is open to all Uplift families. Our goal is to ensure that no child in our community goes without the essential items they need to thrive—both in and out of the classroom.

What is McKinney Vento?

The McKinney Vento Homeless Assistance Act is a federal law that ensures students experiencing homelessness have equal access to public education.

Under this law, scholars may qualify for extra support and rights depending on current living situations. To learn more about your scholar’s rights, view the links below:

Privacy Note: Information about your family’s housing situation is kept confidential and is never used for disciplinary purposes.

Families in Transition Program

Uplift’s Families in Transition (FIT) Program supports students identified under McKinney-Vento, offering resources and advocacy throughout the school year. FIT is designed to remove barriers to your scholar’s learning by offering personalized, wraparound services and resources. Every FIT family is paired with a Wrap Around Service Coordinator (WSC) who works closely with the family, school staff and community partners to meet urgent and ongoing needs.

Eligibility for the program is determined on an academic school year basis based on the Residency Questionnaire.

Additional Supports and Services

When life gets hard, we know families need more than just a one-time resource. That’s why we offer case management – a personalized, step-by-step support plan to help you work toward stability while your scholar continues to succeed in school. This looks like:

  • Understanding your specific needs and goals
  • Creating a plan of action together
  • Connecting families to helpful resources
  • Following up regularly to check progress, offer support or adjust.

Our team offers personalized support to help families overcome challenges and access the resources they need. We connect parents with trusted community organizations that can assist with essentials such as financial support, clothing, food, medical care, and more. While we do not provide these services directly, we’ll help guide you to the right places to call and ask for help.
