Counselors and Social/Emotional Learning
Supporting Your Child’s Mental Health at Uplift Education
What We Offer:
Our counselors provide short-term, in-school mental health support for students, including one-on-one sessions, small groups, and crisis help. While we don’t offer long-term therapy, we can connect you with trusted outside providers if needed.
Classroom Guidance & Prevention:
From kindergarten through 12th grade, our counselors lead age-appropriate lessons that teach important life skills — like managing emotions, building healthy relationships, and staying safe. We also provide training on important topics like substance abuse and healthy relationships.
Whole-School Support:
Our counselors work closely with teachers, school leaders, and families to create a supportive environment for every child. They’re part of key school teams and also train staff on how to support students’ mental health and safety.

Empowering Scholars to Make Safe, Healthy Choices
At Uplift, we believe in helping scholars build a strong foundation for their future by teaching them how to stay safe, make smart choices, and care for their well-being. Our prevention programs are thoughtfully designed and led by trained counselors, with content tailored to be age-appropriate, engaging, and meaningful.
For All Grades
Red Ribbon Week (Oct. 23–31)
A national campaign promoting a drug-free lifestyle. Scholars take part in fun, educational activities that encourage healthy choices.
Bullying Prevention Month (October)
We focus on kindness, respect, and creating a safe school environment. Activities and lessons involve students, staff, and families.
Child Abuse & Domestic Violence Prevention
Through guided lessons, scholars learn how to protect themselves, recognize unsafe situations, and speak up when something isn’t right.
Human Trafficking Awareness
Scholars receive age-appropriate content to raise awareness about human trafficking and how to stay safe — because this issue impacts communities across Texas.
For Middle & High School Scholars
Teen Dating Violence Awareness (February)
Counselors lead lessons and school-wide activities to help teens understand healthy relationships and recognize warning signs of abuse.
Suicide Prevention
Scholars learn to recognize the signs of emotional distress and how to ask for help — for themselves or a friend. Our counselors provide mental health education that promotes hope, connection, and resilience.
Our Commitment to Families
These programs are part of our broader mission to support the whole child — academically, socially, and emotionally. Uplift counselors are here to partner with families in creating a safe and nurturing learning environment where every scholar can thrive.
