Sports are seamlessly integrated into our educational framework, supporting academic success while encouraging healthy lifestyles.
Introducing Tackle Football in Oak Cliff / Southern Dallas for 2025 – 2026
Brandon Carr, former NFL player and Uplift Education’s Senior Director of Athletic Programs and Uplift Hampton’s Head Coach, will lead the development of the Uplift Education tackle football program. With his leadership, our scholars are destined to reach new heights on and off the field.
Our athletic program brings together community pride, scholar growth, and endless possibilities, creating a space where academics and athletics unite to nurture well-rounded individuals. At Uplift, students build teamwork, develop discipline, and set new standards for themselves and their futures.
Athletic Programs
A diverse range of sports programs are offered that help our scholars develop teamwork, discipline, and a strong sense of school spirit. For middle school students, we offer volleyball, flag football, boys’ and girls’ basketball, boys’ and girls’ soccer, and tackle football*.
As scholars progress to high school, they can continue taking part in these sports and also have options such as cross country, track and field, cheerleading, and other sports which vary by school. Whether on the field, court, or track, Uplift encourages every student to stay active, build lifelong skills, and pursue excellence both in academics and athletics.
*Tackle football is available at Uplift Hampton and Uplift Wisdom for the 2025-26 school year for middle and high school.
- Physical Exam: Scholars must complete a physical, signed by a parent or guardian, before trying out.
- Tryouts: Tryouts are required for most sports, and information is communicated to families in advance. Our goal is to give as many students as possible the opportunity to learn, grow, and earn playing time.
- No Pass, No Play: Scholars must maintain a passing grade of 70 or above to participate.
- Practices: 2-3 weekly practices after school.
- Games: Weekly competitions during the sports season.
- Registration Fee: Required to participate.
Tryouts
While tryouts are held for most of our sports, students at Uplift schools generally have far fewer students competing for open spots. In larger public schools it’s common to have dozens of students vying for a few positions. Students also have the opportunity to play multiple sports, and broaden their competition experience. Our goal is to give as many students as possible the chance to learn, grown, and earn playing time.
With a commitment to health and wellness, strong community involvement, and a focus on scholar achievement both on and off the field, Uplift’s athletics programs seamlessly integrate into our broader educational mission, ensuring that every scholar thrives academically and personally. From athletics to academics, Uplift Education nurtures the leaders of tomorrow.
