Performance-Based Compensation System
At Uplift, you won’t just teach. You’ll shape futures — and be recognized for it. Your impact matters here. And it pays.
Our Performance-Based Compensation System (PBCS) rewards great teaching with real earning potential, including the opportunity to reach six-figure pay while remaining in the classroom.
Exceptional teaching changes lives — and exceptional teachers should be recognized for the difference they make.
Uplift’s PBCS directly links your instructional impact to your earnings, giving you a clear, fair, and transparent path to higher pay through strong instruction, positive classroom culture, and measurable scholar growth. No guessing, no hidden criteria — just real support, real growth, and compensation that reflects your impact.
How Performance-Based Pay Works at Uplift
| What We Measure | What It Reflects | Why It Matters |
|---|---|---|
| Instructional Excellence | How you design learning, deliver instruction, and support scholar thinking | Strong teaching accelerates learning and builds long-term success |
| Positive Classroom Culture | How scholars experience belonging, engagement, and strong learning routines | A safe, structured, joyful classroom enables scholars to thrive |
| Scholar Outcomes | Progress scholars make and/or how they perform relative to grade-level mastery — we use the strongest of the two | Every scholar deserves both meaningful growth and the opportunity to reach grade-level expectations |

FAQ
PBCS is Uplift’s compensation model that rewards educators for their effectiveness and impact in the classroom. Instead of pay progressing only with years of experience, teachers can increase their earnings more quickly by demonstrating strong instruction, positive classroom culture, and scholar growth. The system is fair, transparent, and supportive—with clear expectations and guidance from day one.
Performance is evaluated using multiple measures to reflect the full scope of a teacher’s work. Depending on role, this may include instructional practice, classroom culture and learning environment, and scholar outcomes (growth and/or achievement). These measures provide a balanced, accurate picture of teacher effectiveness.
Yes. If a teacher believes there was an error in their evaluation or data, they may request a formal review during the appeals window. The appeal process ensures a fair and impartial reconsideration of the rating, with clear steps and timelines.
PBCS is designed to support teachers at every stage. New teachers receive structured coaching, planning support, and clear expectations so they know what strong practice looks like and how to get there. As classroom practice strengthens, compensation can grow alongside it.
