Emergency Procedures
Uplift Education is committed to providing a safe and nurturing environment for every scholar on every campus. All campus staff members are trained in emergency readiness practices, and drills are conducted routinely with the scholars.
In the Event of an Emergency
Should an actual emergency situation happen on your child’s campus, our first priority is to keep your child safe. Here is what you can expect in the way of communication:
- Communication via phone call, text, or email to let parents know an emergency situation exists.
- Follow up communication to let parents know when a situation has been resolved.
- Communication to let parents know if scholar(s) should be picked up early or if scholars will be held beyond normal release times. Scholars will only be released to parents/guardians or authorized adults listed on your scholar’s emergency contact list.
PLEASE MAKE SURE YOUR CONTACT INFORMATION IS ALWAYS UP TO DATE WITH YOUR SCHOOL OFFICE!
The Standard Response Protocol
Uplift Education has adopted The “I Love U Guys” Foundation’s Standard Response Protocol (SRP). Students and staff will be training, practicing, and drilling the protocol. COMMON LANGUAGE The Standard Response Protocol (SRP) is based on an all-hazards approach as opposed to individual scenarios. SRP utilizes clear common language while allowing for flexibility in protocol. The premise is simple – there are five specific actions that can be performed during an incident. These status will be communicated to staff, scholars, and parents/guardians in case of any emergency.

Parent/Guardian Guidance For Emergency Situations
For the safety of everyone, coming to the school or calling the school during an emergency event is discouraged unless you receive instructions to pick up your child. Your school will communicate with you via text or email during any event to keep you up to date on the situation. Please make sure your contact information is up to date with the school office.
The school recognizes the importance of communication
between parents and scholars during a Lockdown event.
Parents should be aware though, during the initial period
of a Lockdown, scholars likely will not have access to their phones, and it may not be safe for scholars to text their
parents. As the situation resolves, scholars may be asked
to update their parents on a regular basis.
In some cases, scholars may be evacuated and transported off-site for a reunification.
Safety Check
- CHECK IN at school office with valid ID every time you visit your campus prior to entering any building.
- REVIEW Code of Conduct in scholar handbook for safety and behavior expectations for scholars.
- UPDATE your contact information (phone, email, address) if it changes by contacting school office.
